In reply to paragraph ® of your

despatch No 350 of the 7th November, respecting the engage- ment of a special overseer for the new water supply for Kowloon, I have the honour to transmit to you herewith the

usual paper of particulars of the office.

I shall be glad if you fill

obtain the service of a suitable officer and arrange for

his embarkation at the earliest possible date, as his services will be urgently required.

3. The salary of this officer will

be paid out of the vote for the Kowloon Water Supply provi- ded for in the Estimates for 1901.
